  BELAR®

Charakteristics

It is an elastic composite material made of rubber granulate bound with poly butadiene-polyurethane binder. These products have an excellent suppressing capability for vibration transfer between the source of these vibrations and the surrounding structure, which acts as “vibration insulation”., Particularly mats and boards suitable for decreasing vibrations and shocks are made from the BELAR® material. The BELAR® material is resistant to hydrolysis in hot steam, the action of water solutions of acids, alkali, salts, distilled and sea water. BELAR® is resistant to microbes, chemically neutral, harmless to health. It is not resistant to transformer oil.

Use

These mats are used:

  • During the construction of new and reconstruction of old rail tracks – railway, streetcar, and metro tracks - by suitable placement in the rail bed structure, they ensure limitation of the shock and vibration transfer from the rail vehicle to the ambient environment

  • Flexible pads for noisy machines and floating machine foundations - protection of the construction structure against introducing disturbing vibrations from these machines

  • HSV activities – into building foundations for the protection of buildings against the introduction of disturbing vibrations from the ambient environment (e.g. proximity of the metro, railway, streetcar) or from the technological units installed inside (elevator shafts, air-conditioning units, diesel aggregates, generators, cooling towers, ventilators, etc.). Removal of walking vibrations – prefabricated stairways, Terrace boards etc.

Further applications

  • Noise reducing blocks with sound absorption up to 13 dB

  • Sidewalls for streetcar tracks – packing the rail causes noise and vibration suppression and excellent electrical insulation capabilities of the rail insulation against aberrant currents

  • Walkable tiles

  • Other applications using the electrical insulation and suppressing properties of the BELAR® material are also possible.
